Jonathan Feist is editor in chief of Berklee Press, the book/video publishing activity of Berklee College of Music, of where he has helped bring over 150 commercial music products to a worldwide market since 1998. He is the author and instructor of two Berkleemusic courses: Project Management for Musicians (since 2012) and Music Notation with Finale (since 2002). He is also the author of the book, Project Management for Musicians (Berklee Press, 2013), and the co-author of two books: Essential Songwriter (Berklee Press, 2004) and the Berklee Practice Method Teacher’s Guide (Berklee Press, 2004). Jonathan is a composer and songwriter, and most recently released Fantasy Monologue (2010), an album which he served as songwriter and lead vocalist. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in composition from New England Conservatory of Music.
Throughout his career, he has worked in many different capacities in the music industry, including project manager, editor, writer, performing musician, producer, music copyist, composer, stage manager, music course designer, and others. His background also includes software development, technical training, graphic layout, and photography, and he served on various boards for many years, including five as chair of his town’s historical commission. So, he is good at doing things, leading things, and teaching people how to do things by themselves.
